DUTCH CHAMP FREESTYLE
Last week I rode the Dutch Championships here in Laax. There were three different disciplines; slopestyle, halfpipe and big air. At the slopestyle I got second place, at the halfpipe also second and today at the big air I got first, but that wasn't so hard as I was the only person competing, haha. I won a bike though, which I am really happy about. Out of all the three results I am the overall Dutch Champ Freestyle this year. Next week I will compete in my first World Cup slopestyle so I'm excited!
1ST FIS HALFPIPE
Today there was a FIS halfpipe competition, and at the same time it was the Dutch Championships. I got first place in the FIS ranking and 2nd in the Dutch Champs ranking. In the mens category Tobias Aalderink got first place with a clean flippy & spinny run, congrats! Now I have a cool present for my mum (it was her birthday today), see the picture (made by Rutger Geerling)!
BURTON EUROPEAN OPEN
Right now I'm at the Burton European Open in Laax, 2 days ago I did the slopestyle qualifications but unfortunately didn't get through. Still I was super stoked because in the practise I landed my run really clean, and I never landed a run spinning in three directions before, so actually nothing could break my day anymore, haha.
In about ten days the Dutch Championships are starting over here, and in the beginning of February I will compete in a FIS World Cup Slopestyle in Italy, and after that I go back to Mayrhofen (Austria) to ride the Vans Penken Park and hopefully a lot of powder. See ya!
